![]() (That’s just what happens when your dad’s a preacher at a big church. A year later, we were engaged, and nine months after that, there we stood at the altar, in front of my dad and eight hundred fifty family and friends. Maybe I should get a move on.” So he did. I’m in love with that girl, but she’s here in the most romantic city in the world, on a date with someone else, and he’s feeding her candy apples. It took a church trip to Paris and a bite from a candy apple offered to me by another boy while Kevin stood there watching to make Kevin realize, “Hey wait a minute. In 1999, I married my college sweetheart, Kevin Thompson, after several years spent swooning over him from the passenger seat of his Dodge Avenger as he gave me a ride to church every Sunday morning. Our StoryĪfter three years of marriage, my biological clock wasn’t just ticking it was firing off hourly cannon shots complete with fireworks displays. I pray the lessons we’re learning, trying to wrestle Christ into the chaos of family life-will give you hope, practical help, and a lot of good laughs. We call ourselves the Crazies, because we really are-but most days, we mean that in a good way. We have epic sock toss battles, and frequent dance-party-related injuries. We do a lot of random gymnastics at inappropriate moments. We’re a wonderfully imperfect family, fighting to do this Christian parenting thing God’s way. I am living proof that geeky girls can live happily ever after. When I’m not inhaling Starbucks mochas and plotting my next book, I work from home as an editor and volunteer youth minister, and as a full-time snack maker, couch snuggler, laundry slayer, dog-poop cleaner (ugh), floor mopper, not-so-gourmet chef, homework helper, kid chauffeur, and tantrum tamer. I am a forever-thankful mom to the Crazies, our four sweetly wacky kids-kids we never thought we’d be able to conceive: Cassidy, Blake, Avery, and Sawyer. Tall, Dark and Handsome (see photo-it’s an apt description, is it not?). I am married to my steady-feeler husband, Kevin-I call him Mr. I also write fiction and nonfiction for tweens and teens! Now that we are the blessed parents of our four miracle kids, I love sharing practical, fun devotions and Bible studies for families. It is a great privilege to encourage other couples undergoing infertility from our experiences as a Christian couple who struggled to conceive. I love helping other women and teens grow in Christian faith and emotional health ( Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I’m a Big Feeler!). Jesus will return to eternally reign with His followers, and those who do not belong to Him will be separated from Him forever.I write to help others find hope when they’re waiting, help when they’re hurting, and humor in holiness. The Holy Spirit dwells within every believer to form Christ in them.We are made right with God by believing that Jesus’ death on the cross satisfies our sin debt.Man is created in God’s image, but has been marred by sin and separated from God.The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God and is the authority for our life. There is one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. God has given us the vision to become a church centered around being disciples of Jesus who also help others become followers of Jesus. We aim to imitate Christ in all that we do and would welcome you to join us. Our desire is to know Jesus and make Him known. We are a family of imperfect believers who are growing in their faith. ![]()
